MPNature is a new website about the nature at Monticello Park in Alexandria. In the spring, Monticello Park is one of the most popular birdwatching venues in the Washington metro area. The website is designed to that people can know what to look for when preparing to visit the park, can understand what they are seeing when in the park, and can learn more after they leave about what they have seen. The website contains detailed accounts of 123 bird species seen at the park and daily bird checklists for each date in April and May so that visitors will know which birds to look for.
Among the other features are natural history essays, a virtual tour of the park, maps with driving directions, and lists of natural history resources in 12 categories.
